The Idea

Today we discussed our vague ideas, and produced a single basic plot. It involves a muscular man in a public area, such as a shopping centre. He receives a message on his phone telling him to go home immediately immediately. Once home, he finds his computer flooded with pop-ups. Other electrical appliances begin to turn on and make noises. Some, such as the television and phone, have a woman's voice, saying a word. The man does not understand what is happening, and becomes sick/dizzy.

The representations challenged include the physically strong male character, who will be in a position of weakness when against the intangible force. The antagonist is kept relatively ambiguous; its only personification will be the female voice, although it is likely to be distorted – almost robot-like.

In order to engage the audience, the camerawork will have to be slightly unconventional. Examples of ideas for shots we've already had include:

• A circular tracking shot of the man, when he feels dizzy (the camera moves around him).

• A point-of-view shot from the computer, i.e. from a webcam, to make the audience feel as if he is being watched.
